Next Meeting:

(see "Next Meeting" for details)

Videography, or Video for short, is much more involved than still photography and requires numerous skills (for lack of a better word at the moment), many of which are college majors unto themselves. We're talking about the concept (screen writing and storybording), shooting (video, audio, and lighting), editing, archiving, and this is just a short list.

For some videos it can become more involved with actors (talent), directing, makeup, music, etc. In some cases legal documents may be required such as model releases or copyright permissions. Computer, application, and file management knowledge required and is crucial to the successful outcome of a project.

Because Video is very involved it is practically a given that no one knows everything and the axiom would be that everybody could use some support and information.

A couple goals of a club then, would be to provide a forum to network, share information, and have a good time.

A beautiful example of a vintage Sekonic "Elmatic 8" standard 8mm video camera from 1960 for the consumer market. It has numerous bells and whistles and it is powered by a manually wound coiled spring. The only thing electronic was the built-in light meter (no batteries). The finish is two-tone crackle green.

Features: Lens stop and focus table, adjustable shutter speed, footage indicator, three built-in filters, ASA film speed adjustment, adjustable parallax viewfinder. The turret-mounted lenses are 9mm, 13mm, and 32mm (telephoto), all f1.9.The viewfinder indicates the area of coverage for each lens.
