Discussion ideas: by the numbers
Movie: Professional directors know that 85 percent of getting a great performance on video is casting - selecting the right person for the part.
Audio: It's been said that 2/3rds of good video is good audio. Microphones, wired and wireless, and wind protection (foam, softies, and blimps)
Besides a few fairly experienced videographers, there is a nice group of iMovie folks so there is already a wide range of videography capabilities. What is interesting is that the iMovie folks seem to be really strong in the story telling area.

This is a JVC GZ-HD7 camcorder with a Rode Stereo VideoMic in an isolation suspension system mounted on the hotshoe. A Rode Dead Cat (their term - our cat does not like that) is in front. Sadly, our cat passed away of cancer last fall. The HD7 is an early prosumer Full Hi-Def camcorder and it generates *.tod video files that are not supported by any modern video editing programs.
